Prevention

Despite the prevalence of scams today, there are easy ways to prevent or limit them.
Ways to Keep You and Your Information Safe

  • Never give out personal information (like social security or bank account numbers) unless you know for sure that the person requesting it is legitimate.​

  • Limit what you share on social media.

  • ​Avoid clicking on links in emails or text messages.  If you need to contact the bank/credit card company/etc., go to their official websites.

  • Reach out to a trusted adviser, police department, or bank employee if you have concerns.
